An evening of sipping cocktails with friends takes a new twist with Liquor Laboratory, a hands-on, interactive craft beer, wine, spirits and cocktail event space where you can experience custom cocktails by learning how make them yourself.
The margaritas and taco night they hosted at their SoHo location was fun, laid back and incredibly informative. We were going to learn how to make four infused margaritas: Hibiscus Tommy’s Margarita, Pineapple Jalapeno Mezcal Margarita, Citrus Infused Margarita and Port Finished Margarita and then drink away.
The class starts off with music, tacos and mingling. Our host and instructor, Freddie Sarkis known as the Chief Cocktail Officer knows how to work a crowd. He kept the class lively and didn’t mind stopping to answer questions as he guided us through four different margarita recipes. We learned the exact ingredients and measurements and why the different flavors went so well together.
After making each drink there would be a period of mingling, so we could enjoy the drink and make new friends in the process.
At the end of the event we were asked to rate the drinks and critique the class and in return we received an e-book of drink recipes. Sarkis also answered any additional questions.
This is a unique way to spend an evening and the price was reasonable for 4 drinks, tacos and lessons. You can bring friends or come solo. You’ll enjoy yourself either way.
Liquor Labs is also working on a party box which will include all the basic ingredients to make cocktails from scratch and detailed instructions. Just add liquor.
Cheers to impressing your friends with your new-found drink making skills.
