What: Commanderie de la Bargemone – 2014 Blanc
Where: Coteaux d’Aix en Provence, France
Price: $16

A rather charming Provençal blend of 50% Rolle (Vermentino), 30% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Ugni Blanc and 10% Grenache Blanc. Refreshingly floral with hints of orange and nectarine, the Rolle shines through with its uplift of distinct minerality. It is dry and medium bodied with flavors of violet and green apple with a lingering finish of saline from its close proximity to the Mediterranean Sea.

2014 was an excellent vintage for white wines in Provence, so these bottles are well worth the modest price tag they come with. On a warm day, this wine is delicious on its own or can be a perfect pairing with white fish, crab, quail and rabbit.
