Beer Belly bar has been filling guts with LA’s craft beer and crafty food since 2011. Sourcing most of its brews from greater Los Angeles, married owners Jimmy and Yume Han rotate 12 taps daily to include rare sours and barrel-aged specialties at the relaxed bar in LA’s Koreatown. With mosaic and wood-panel walls inside and an outdoor patio guests come for the killer taps and stay for the bacon fat fries featuring bacon bits, wild arugula, chili morita, and maple vinegar dip. Each month for one night, Beer Belly also opens its taps to a guest brewery with a program they call One Night Stand (Smog City, Ballast Point, and The Bruery will round out the rest of this year’s boozy liaisons). They also host “New Order Mondays” where Chef Wes Lieberher introduces two new dishes to an ‘80s music soundtrack. The tunes don’t end there. The bar practices “Music Democracy” where patrons can download an app to vote on what songs to hear while hanging bar-side.
