Winner! Viognier is a tricky grape and Lorimar gets it just right here. Redolent of jasmine and honeysuckle, it’s a grape classically described in white floral notes. I personally really love viognier, especially with Indian food as it’s the rare grape that matches curry right. This wine is one of the highlights from the Lorimar line-up. I have tasted many other California viogniers that cost substantially more than this wine, with less aromatics. If you’re a fan of viognier – found in wines from Condrieu in France and made popular in the US by the Caymus “Conundrum” wine – you will love this bottle. I felt it was actually underpriced for the quality. This wine is a Double Gold winner at the SF Chronicle Wine Competition.
