Hosting a happy hour during the holidays may seem troublesome but don’t over think it! You don’t have to be a chef or mixologist. First thing first is choosing one signature cocktail, for example, the Manhattan. Use 2 ounces of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye that’ll give it some spice, 1 ounce of Sweet Vermouth and 1 Luxardo cherry. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice combine the whiskey with the sweet vermouth and stir until well chilled. Strain into a glass, add one cherry and serve. See? So easy!
What’s perfect about serving a cocktail with Jack Daniel’s Rye is that you can really dive in and have fun with the flavors. Serve some Chorizo and Chocolate Bruschetta that will be unexpected but the sweet and savory will work so well with the Manhattan your guests will be in awe. All you need for that is a baguette, Nutella and 1 6-inch dry Spanish chorizo sausage (make sure you get the Spanish one and not the Mexican one since the former is hard cured sausage that you won’t need to cook). Spread a little Nutella on a slice of baguette and top with 2-3 slices of chorizo. Delicious? I think so. You may also consider that some of your guests are vegetarian and provide some blue cheese, dried apricot and spiced candied walnut bites. Just combine your blue cheese with some fresh rosemary and spoon about ¾ teaspoon of the mixture on top of each apricot. Sprinkle with nuts or place one nut on each. Add some candles, twinkly lights, a cheese platter and a fantastic cocktail and anyone can host happy hour. Thanks Jack!
