New Belgium Brewing announced the introduction of its 10th full-time, year-round beer. Part throwback and part trendsetter, the New Belgium Snapshot Wheat is an unfiltered wheat beer with a citrusy nose, coriander and grains of paradise, giving way to a sweet malt profile and a flash of tart across the finish, according to a description from the brewery. The vision is to offer a distinctly New Belgium take on two recent craft beer trends – sour and session. The sour trend hails from Belgium influence with deliberate tartness, whereas a session beer is one that must be low in alcohol, and super drinkable- every day, all day. To achieve the perfect balance, the Brewmaster has actually blended two beers – one that is traditionally fermented and one that undergoes a lacto fermentation. Snapshot Wheat smooths out the tart while creating a very refreshing and sessionable wheat beer. Here’s to your new every day beer in 2014.
