Vermentino, also known by its synonym Rolle in southern France represents a fusion of Rhône and Provence. Combined with Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc and a touch of Muscat, this wine creates the perfect blend of freshness and aromatics. It has a rounded beauty with hints of fennel, white peach and pear and the freshness is reminiscent of Picpoul. The grapes for this wine come from carefully selected parcels in the best terroirs of Rhône and Provence. Made through traditional vinification with long fermentation at a low temperature it was then bottled quickly to preserve its freshness and fruit and can be consumed 2 to 5 years after the vintage.

2015 was a difficult year in the area making this vintage extraordinary. Cool winter temperatures extended until the end of March and resulted in bud break delay. Spring’s good temperature gave good foliage but rains in July affected ripening. The vintage in the end was saved by the good weather in September. With a 13% ABV, this white is perfect with grilled and roasted white meats. Have a drink, and cheers to September.
