In 1998, Bodega Ruca Malen, a boutique winery was established in Mendoza, Argentina. The dream began when Jean Pierre Thibaud and Jacques Louis de Montalembert confessed to each other the aspiration to form their own winery. After ten years Jean Pierre left the presidency of Chandon Winery Argentina, while Jacques Louis had learned a legitimate knowledge of winemaking in the Bourgogne region. Today the winery sits 800-1,100m above sea level in the high quality Lujan De Cuyo area of Mendoza. There the vines benefit from the high altitude UV light that concentrates dynamic grape components, while the cool nighttime temperature prolongs the ripening process, which enhances the precious flavor.

Don Raul de la Mota, one of the founding fathers of winemaking in Argentina created a blend long ago for Ruca Malen. Today, they have honored him with the icon wine known as Kinien de Don Raul. This wine is a blend of high quality vintages in only limited amounts. The final blend is aged for 18 months in oak barrels which are 90% French and 10% oak. With intense, rich, and elegant aromas of plums and blackberries, followed by a vanilla, caramel, and chocolate harmony, this well bodied, smooth finishing wine is sure to offer your taste buds a treat sweet.
