The 13-year-old Single Malt from That Boutique-y Whiskey Company is a perfect example of this; the bottle is decorated with a fantastic, hand-illustrated label. Each bottle that comes from That Boutique-y Whiskey Company features colorful and creative comic book style artwork that is inspired from the history and character of the distillery it comes from. Some of the art is particularly eccentric, like the label on the 13-year which features a horse head surrounded by psychedelic colors and floating sugar cubes, to other bottles with images of a velociraptor fighting a shark!
The flavor of this whiskey is just as original as it’s cover. On the palate, there are strong fruity notes of apple and apricot along with sweet spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and a dash of root ginger. These move slowly to softer notes of dark fruits like plums and figs. Slightly hoppy with a creamy mouth feel, it finishes with even more apricot and wood spices.
