The straightforward menu at Bar Crudo means you know what you’re getting at this go-to bistro on the “it” stretch of Divisadero Street: oysters, raw fish specials, a bowl of chowder. The beer list is more involved, running to some four-dozen varieties, chosen by Tim Silvera who owns the place with his twin brother Mike. Bar Crudo was one of the original spots (along with NOPA) transforming this formerly lackluster stretch of the Western Addition into a destination. It’s first come, first served for happy hour tidbits at the bar, and reservations are taken for dinner Tuesdays through Sundays. Special events include beer dinners during San Francisco’s Beer Week.

Price: Oysters $2.50 per piece, raw fish plates $13
