Renowned Chef David Burke from Iron Chef America fame opened his newest restaurant, Woodpecker, in grand style on Tuesday, June 12. Tastemakers, fans and celebrities like Joe Piscopo, Ramona Singer from Real Housewives of New York, news anchor, Lori Stokes from Good Day New Yok and even Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramucci were on hand to help celebrate the opening.
Pisco Punch
The drinks were flowing including a tasty twist on the signature Pisco Punch. This one was made with Pisco 100, Strawberry and Apricot nectar. It was delicious and refreshing.

While Burke was the star of the show we were all there to indulge in the food and we were not disappointed. Shortly after arriving we were treated to mouthwatering cricket pizza. Yes, you read that right, crickets. It was divine.
Lobster Dumplings
People could not get enough of the lobster dumplings. Some were taking five at a time and popping them in their mouths as quickly as they were being grabbed. I’m still dreaming about those dumplings and will be going back for more.
Bacon Bar
The highlight of the evening was the bacon bar with unlimited slices served to your hearts content. How do you top a bacon bar?
The restaurant has a cozy feel. There’s a bar with flat screens to watch the game. There’s a small nook that makes for a warm romantic vibe and is intimate enough for a private party.
Woodpecker Decor
The décor matches the theme, woodpecker. There are bird houses and photos of woodpeckers.
David made his rounds through the restaurant greeting everyone, taking pictures, laughing and enjoying what was a truly successful and fun night.
Woodpecker is located at 30 West 30th Street, NYC. They are open for lunch and dinner. A sidewalk café will be opening in July and the bar is open late.
