Grown at high altitude in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley makes this a Cool Climate Chardonnay. Tree fruit, tropical, touch of toffee or butterscotch, fresh acidity. Elegant. This was a definite hit at the Sunday Ravine Vineyard Brunch.

Wonderful creamy mouthfeel yet elegant. Tropical fruit notes with apple, pear and honey. Touch of floral. Racy acidity and a finish that goes on and on. The 2013 version had a great reception as well but, alas, I didn’t get a taste. There’s always next year!

I chose this wine for a few reasons. First, it comes from Sicily. I think HOT and red wine when I think of this region in Italy. The grapes for this wine are grown at a high altitude that makes this a Cool Climate Chardonnay. Next, the deep lemon color. The wine is actually very light and approachable. Finally, I think it’s a real price performer at $25.

There are only 600 individually numbered bottles of this Chardonnay. The wine is whole bunch pressed and exhibits aromas and flavors of lime zest, tree fruit, butterscotch with fresh acidity. Rich yet elegant. This is one for the collector. Cellar potential.
