We know, we know, you’re tired of waiting. It’s been too long! And, the excitement keeps building. The folks over at R&B Distillers know that the wait for the opening of Isle of Raasay Distillery has been long and hard. They want to reward their patiently waiting whiskey drinking fellows with the release of a spirit that’s been specially distilled to make the time pass by a little bit smoother and make the wait much more enjoyable.
Whiskey making is a long (and we mean longgg) process and the distillers over at Raasay are serving up a little preview of the flavors to look forward to from the island. With the launch of this limited edition third iteration, drinkers worldwide can quit twiddling their thumbs and pour themselves a glass. While We Wait is a mixture of whiskey finished for 8 weeks in Tuscan Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc casks, and whiskey that has finished in the wine casks for 18 months (see we told you it takes a long time). This spirit is unusual and brimming with rich flavor. Full bodied, fruity, and slightly smoky it’s the perfect match for a cheese board loaded with sweet and savory bits and it especially shines in cocktails. If you have to wait, why not do it with a drink in your hand?
