Raymond Twomey Duncan and Justin Meyer were two friends, with one common dream: to create the perfect American oak-aged Cabernet Sauvignon worthy of cellaring for future decades to come. Their story is a tear-jerking tale of devastation and triumph, but with hard work and perseverance, Silver Oak winery grew in popularity to be a highly sought after staple on restaurant wine lists around the nation.

In 2006, a fire devastated the historical Silver Oak winery in Oakville, California. This emotional event, though difficult, turned to be a blessing in disguise for the Silver Oak team, as the construction of a new state-of-the-art winery was in motion. Along the rolling foothills of the Maycamas mountains, the new Alexander Valley Winery opened for harvest 2017 and pushes the standard of innovation through alternative energy sources, water reuse systems and recycled building material. Silver Oak continues to persevere and break the barriers toward producing the finest Cabernet Sauvignon on the market. The common dream of creating an exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon is still a pursuit- the idea that Silver Oak’s best wines are still ahead of them is a philosophy the vintners at the winery live by. It’s only up from here!

Tours and tastings are available at Silver oak, along with food pairing and cooking classes curated by Winery Chef Dominic Orsini. Book your private event today!
