KWV was founded in 1918 by South African wine farmers. The goal was to band together to stabilize and strengthen the struggling wine industry. It wasn’t until the early 1990’s that world markets would open to South African wine. KWV played a crucial role in regulating the industry in South Africa and continues to export some of the finest and most acclaimed wines in the region.

KWV The Mentors Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect balance of sweet and bold. All of the grapes were hand sorted to ensure only the best, ripest fruit was selected and the wine was matured for a total of 18 months in French oak barrels. Though the wine is begging to be enjoyed immediately, cellaring a bottle for a further five to eight years promises to be worth the wait. The nose offers sweet aromas of dark cherry accompanied with nuances of black olive. The palate is balanced with sweet fruitiness and bold, fleshy tannins that lend to a long and lasting finish. Enjoy a glass by itself or serve with savory dishes like meaty raviolis and spicy stews. Or carefully tuck this one away in the cellar for a special occasion in the future and you will be rewarded.
