They say good things come in pairs: day and night. Summer and winter. Beyoncé, and Jay-Z. Good things rarely come in three’s, but there is one combination that is sure to test that statement. With the combination of three classic grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier- the creation of Hampshire’s Jenkyn Place Cuvee Brut is born. These delicious, traditional grapes are grown over chalk and milestone soils, situated on the south-facing slope of the North Downs in Hampshire, New England. The pinot and Chardonnay grapes are individually pressed, then undergo a temperature-controlled fermentation process. Aged for three years, with room for even more maturity. The incredible, pure clarity this wine acquires will allow excellent age dexterity for the next 2-6 years.
Typical of Jenkyn Place’s earlier vintages, the Jenkyn Place Brute Cuvee encompasses energy and precision relating to the palate. Chardonnay-dominant, combined with young and acidic English sparkling wines, this Cuvee gives a feeling of pure richness. Of course, this young and fresh wine is delightful on its own- but recommended as an aperitif, specifically the flavors of fresh seafood.
Jenkyn Place has been the home for various award-winning wines since 2006- just two years after planting their first vines. Today, the vineyard has grown to 12 acres; ample space for producing more Jenkyn Place wines we know and love.
