Finally! Blind Dragon, a new upscale karaoke bar in Western Hollywood, is open for business. Generating huge interest before it even opened its doors—Miley Cyrus, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Cara Delevingne, and Courteney Cox are some of the celebrities who got an early behind the scenes peek-Blind Dragon is gleefully kitschy and devastatingly refined. Every room dares you to reconsider your expectations, transitioning smoothly from the intimate clutter of the main room, with a beautiful ceiling dripping with lanterns, to the chic modernity of the private side-rooms.
If you get too worn down by the karaoke or the 80’s pop-culture inspired cocktails (available in shareable bowl sizes), chefs Luigi Fineo and Michael Lefnes (of Rivabella) have collaborated to create an intriguing menu that appeals to both the foodie and the late-night adventurer (choose between equally mouth-watering dim sum and pizza offerings).
Visitors peer through house plants and around titillating curios to discover surprises around every corner, including a life-sized effigy of Bruce Lee. Blind Dragon demands you not take yourself seriously. Honestly, why would you want to? Three Karaoke stations, dancefloors, remarkable drinks, astonishing food—even the decorating provides endless fodder for entertainment.
The latest in a slew of successful offerings from the H. Wood Group and designed by John Sofio and Sormeh Azad of Built Inc., Blind Dragon appears to be on track to become another incredible triumph. Get there fast: if not for the delightful experience, at least to say you were there at the beginning of a legend.
