Oregon’s Willamette Valley has a vast array of Pinot Noir producers who have been at the game for years. So when Cedar+Salmon named this wine as its first offering, well, the end result was not expected. This is a lovely Pinot with elegant strawberry blackberry, black cherry, huckleberry and bing cherry, brambly fruit, plum, earthiness, and a mild acidity that hovers in the mid and back palate. It lacks the sometimes off- putting cola notes and instead present a soft side, with back notes of dried herbs like thyme. Aged with a mix of stainless steel and oak for seven months, its price belies its quality.
Truly Oregon and truly impressive for a first-timer.
