Richard Auffrey, a licensed attorney and life-long resident of Massachusetts, has been involved in food and wine writing for over eight years. He currently writes a food, wine, sake and spirits blog, The Passionate Foodie. His articles have been published in the Stoneham Sun newspaper, Valley Patriot newspaper, North End Scene magazine, Boston Scene magazine and the Beverage Media Group magazines.

He is also a Certified Spanish Wine Educator, a Certified Wine Location Specialist (which concentrates on Champagne and Port) and a Certified Sake Professional. He teaches sake education classes and hold sake tastings and dinners. In addition, Richard writes sake, food & wine-related fiction and has published three books, including two novels.
