When it comes to whiskey, you know we get pretty excited, so when we heard that Oban Bay Distillery was about to start rolling out its new ‘Oban Little Bay’, excited we became! Yes, this delight is currently being rolled out nationwide across the USA, so keep your eyes peeled!

So let’s talk a little Oban: Oban Bay is one of the oldest and smallest distilleries in Scotland, sitting snug on a little bay in-between the Islands and the West Highlands. Founded in 1794 by a small group of artisans, each batch is distilled in hand-crafted copper pot stills, rumored to be amongst some of the smallest in Scotland. You see, Oban believes that quality comes from creating bit-by-bit, so you’ll see a lot of ‘small’ throughout the process opposed to ‘mass’.

Married in, yes you guessed it, small casks, Oban Whiskey holds more contact with the surrounding oak, delivering signature notes of rich fruit, maritime and citrus. Oban Little Bay is made in exactly the same way as its brother whiskies, attaining a signature taste that quite frankly, you can’t find anywhere else.

Here’s a little trivia knowledge for you: January 25th is known as Robert Burns Day, named after the famous poet and lyricist. It is on this day that Scottish folk come together, get merry on delights such as Oban, and eat an obscene amount of haggis (if you’ve not tried, it, you should, it’s great). There’s also a little poetry and sing-song going around, which our friend Nick Offerman thought he’d have a little stab at too, good ol’ Nick.
