Manhattan Cocktail Classic

The Manhattan Cocktail Classic is in full swing this weekend as the city of New York hosts the annual celebration of spirited culture.

What To Do This Week In New York (Vol. 2)

NYC Beer Week is chugging along with unstoppable force. Here is just a glimpse of what’s on tap over the next few days…

Partida Tequila

It’s time to talk tequila. And not the crappy kind with the harsh finish and ambiguous taglines. I want the smooth, delectable nectar of 100% pure blue agave. Partida ultra premium brand fits the bill. The botanical, Earthy aroma that gently wafts from an open bottle of their Blanco is spellbinding.

508 GastroBrewery

In the summer of 2008, Greenwich Village in lower Manhattan received a gastronomic gift in the form of a hip, wholesome eatery/brewery that has gone on to become one of the neighborhood’s star attractions.

What To Do This Week In New York (Vol. 1)

To put it bluntly: drink. Drink a lot of good, craft beer. And don’t stop anytime soon. You can get started tonight in Lower Manhattan at Blue Smoke (255 Vesey St).

Brooklyn’s Barcade Hosts Chili Cookoff For Charity

New York City Beer Week keeps chugging along this weekend. On Sunday, Barcade (388 Union Ave) in Williamsburg is the place to be as they get set to host the 9th Annual Brooklyn Underground Chili Extravaganza.

New York City Beer Week Begins

Fresh off the heels of San Francisco Beer Week, New York City is set to launch their own East Coast version starting this Friday with a kick-off event at the Galapagos Art Space (16 Main St) in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn.

Brooklyn’s Beer Boutique

One of my favorite beer filling stations in the Big Apple is just off the BQE in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Owned and operated by a charming young, married couple of micro-brew connoisseurs, the Beer Boutique (497 Union Ave.) opened last year offering 10 rotating taps of small batch beers to the thirsty denizens of New York’s most populated borough.

Guy’s American Kitchen and Bar

There are few places in the world as flashy as the streets of Times Square. Perhaps it’s only natural then that Guy Fieri–the restaurateur and TV host, known for his loud, bleach-blonde locks–would choose the ever-bustling epicenter of New York’s Theatre District as the home for his first bite of the Big Apple.

Freaktoberfest!

Freaks and beer geeks unite! This year marks the 5th annual FREAKTOBERFEST Boutique Beer and Music Festival We had the pleasure of attending this event last year, and can’t wait to sample specialty beers from more than 35 craft breweries (including Shmaltz Brewing Co.’s seasonal launch of Coney Island Freaktoberfest, a 6.66% ABV red lager), and get our freak on to a bevy of burlesque performers, DJs, and live music from local indie-rock bands like Elby Brass, Courtesy Tier, and Green Lotus Project. And – bonus – five hours of unlimited sampling and daytime dancing will go down at one of the raddest new beer gardens in Brooklyn. Saturday, September 15, 2012 Greenwood Park Beer Garden 555 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY Time: 12 pm – 5 pm Tickets: $60, http://freaktoberfest.eventbrite.com
