Last week I posted an unconventional recipe for orange cream margaritas that’s proven to be so popular (with friends and family, at least) that I deemed it necessary to share another zany cocktail combination involving the terrific tastes of tequila. And this one might be even crazier than the last one: Chocolate Margaritas. Before you shudder at the thought, consider that this electrifying elixir contains Kahlua, and crushed Oreo cookies! If that doesn’t have you licking your lips in anticipation, then perhaps you ought to stop reading now. If you’re brave enough to give it a whirl, I guarantee you will be supremely excited with the end result.
To begin with, you’re going to need about a half dozen original Oreos. Place them into a sandwich bag and crush them before putting them on a small plate. Put this aside, as it’s going to be your rim garnish at the end. Next, pour an ounce of your favorite tequila in a shaker with ice, 1/2 oz. of orange juice, 3/4 oz. of Kahlua and 1/2 oz. of half n half. Shake these ingredients up, and then slowly stir in a tablespoon of chocolate syrup–just like what you used to make chocolate milk with as a kid. Dust the rim of a rocks glass with those tasty crushed Oreos and then pour in your chocolatey concoction. Enjoy the perfect dessert cocktail, and don’t be afraid to dip a few Oreos or pieces of chocolate in for some added deliciousness.
