UPDATE: Apparently, the woman’s name has been obtained and the police are currently looking for her. Hear here for social media and communities banding together to help out!

Jasper’s Corner Tap and Kitchen (401 Taylor Street) in the Tenderloin is one of the city’s hottest restaurants of the past year.  They have consistently been hospitable to me and have continually impressed with a significant selection of beer cocktails and other imaginative menu items.  So I was particularly dismayed to hear of the news of their General Manager, Matt Meidinger, being assaulted this past weekend on the streets of San Francisco.

The alleged incident took place outside of Balboa Cafe on the corner of Greenwich and Fillmore, where the Marina meets the Cow Hollow.  After the bar had closed and late-night drinkers headed out to the streets, Matt witnessed a woman in high-heels—accompanied by two larger gentlemen in their early 30s—accost a man for accidentally knocking into one of her shoes while she was changing into flip-flops.  After telling the women to chill out, she proceeded to clock him upside the head with one of her spikes causing Matt to bleed profusely, requiring a trip to the local emergency room.  Before cops could arrive on the scene the accused woman was able to take off, but not before her picture was taken.  I have included it in this post.  If anyone recognizes her, please report her immediately.
